We had a busy weekend as we were also giving 10 and 20 min tasters at the Horniman Music Festival on Sunday 4^th July 2010. Thanks to all our therapists who looked fantastic with their MindBody Therapists t-shirts on! Many enjoyed the treatments as the therapists were kept busy from c2pm to beyond 6pm!

There were those who remembered us from last year’s event and those who ‘found’ us on the day and were pleasantly surprised that they have their own local therapy centre just on the main street. A BIG thank you again, to all those who came, all those who gave tasters and all those who wished us well for the MindBody Forest Hill Therapy Day that we had on Saturday 3^rd July 2010, our first year birthday of the centre.

We had great sunshine, there was a good turn out and all our therapists and advisors were busy from 1pm until 5.30pm, some until after 6pm! Thanks again especially to those who volunteered their time freely.

Special thanks to Charlene White, GMTV/ITN presenter who came to relaunch the newly decorated MindBody Therapy centre, gave a speech and cut our opening ribbon while being filmed. She seemed very relaxed, enjoying the atmosphere and even got her nails done! Devon commented on ‘how approachable and easy going she was for a celebrity!’

Special thanks to Hazel who stayed all day and gave a good speech about whom and what the ThroughUnity charity are and the help they give to bereaved families. Also thanks to Gregg and Michal who came along from TransmissionUK and left a speech for us. We appreciate working alongside you both.

Also, big thanks to the Dyane and the Over 50’s community group from Poplar Harca who made it over all the way from East London!

Who can believe that it is June 2010 already?! Just one more month and we will have been up and running for ONE YEAR!! So we'd like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all our clients who have seen us either at the centre or at the many events we have attended over the year. Also, a thank you to all the therapists who first joined us and the many who still work with us in one capacity or another, in and around the centre, plus all the therapists who have joined us since.

It has been a long road for the MindBody Therapy founder Devon Burke, who always looked to open a centre which was 'not just any centre' but one which worked hand in hand with the community. We therefore invite you all to come along on Saturday 3rd July 2010 for our Open Therapy Day. There will be FREE taster treatments for massage, beauty and even laughter therapy! There will also be giveaways and great raffle prizes on the day. Read more on our EVENTS page and COME ALONG FROM 1pm onwards and leave informed, relaxed and refreshed!

We had a good time at Cator Park School on Thursday evening, despite the rain pouring down and us trying to drive the car through the main walkway entrance! When we finally got inside, we were greeted with plenty of warmth and everyone was full of laughter, trying to make the most of the evening. We managed to de-stress quite a number of people by giving taster sessions of indian head massage, neck, back and shoulder massage and reiki healing.

Thanks to Lesley who linked up with us to take part and to prove it's a small world, it's where my niece goes to school as well! See Anna and Anna Li in action in the picture, while Devon was doing his walkabout with his head massager!

We certainly had a great time last night at our joint Christmas party; The MindBody Therapy Centre and Energie Fitness Club at a local place in Forest Hill. We won't say which one, mind you I don't THINK anyone embarassed themselves too much!! Food was good and plentiful, company was fantastic and we had plenty of belly laughs and a great time dancing the night away until the wee hours of the morning.

Hope you also have a fantastic holiday season and that you get a chance to have fun and lots of belly laughter with friends and family. Take Care Devon and Karen.

The MindBody Therapy Centre therapists had a fantastic day today at Lewisham College, giving tasters and talks throughout the day at their Mental Health Day.

There seemed to be waves of people coming through the doors every twenty minutes, to see what the college had on offer. When they came over and realised they could have a range of treatments, the buzz had started! On offer was head, back and shoulders massage, tastes of neuro skeletal re-alignment therapy, talks on EFT, reiki, NLP, hypnotherapy and feldenkrais.

Thanks to our great contacts at the college, Devon, Tracey, Sam, Diana, Karine and Marilyn enjoyed and encouraged the energy and buzz created throughout the day and will look forward to many more.

What a laugh we had in the park today with Energie and their team on their Family Sports Day at Crystal Palace! The sun came out, drinks were flowing and pizza found its way over. So, whether it was the egg and spoon race or throw the bean bag or the relay race, we all participated and we all had fun. It was a chance for gym members and their families to get to know the fun guys at Energie and also to meet some of our therapists. Samantha and Anna gave some free tasters with Head, Neck and Shoulders Massage and Karine explained what Feldenkrais was all about (more to come on website but come down and find out!).

By time the three legged race and the relay came around, the competition spirit was high. Mario and I were slow to start as we tried to stay in rhythm for the three legged race but when we spun around, no one could stop us! We came down on the home stretch with confidence, great stride and technique, winning the race…yea! Also the relay got all our fires burning and school memories racing, not wanting to lose! Again in the finals I ‘happened’ to be in the winning team obliterating the competition, so good work team mates!  Well done Energie for laying on the drink, food and games and well done Ricky aka Mr.Pink aka Starsky cool mirror shades (aka many more names we won’t mention here) for running the games on the day. And yes, we all need to keep training at the gym to get ready for next time!

My, my...we've come a long way. For those in the know, it truly is a manifestation of faith! From our thoughts, to a virtual centre, to an actual LIVE, OPEN and LIVING centre, with ten therapists on board, how amazing Life is. Eight weeks of hard work, sweat, tears of exhaustion (mine not Devon's!), planning, talking, buying, ordering, setting up, cleaning, paperwork and drawing like minded people...they tell us its called being in business and the 24/7 lifestyle...phew...exhausting, exciting & exhilarating at the same time but utterly worthwhile and fulfilling.

Thanks & Praise to All That Is...and So It Is. Special thanks also, to all who helped and all who believed. May it continue to bring all that it brings for all who enters in no matter who you are, what part you play or what you bring and/or receive. Devon and Karen.

We were out in the Horniman Gardens and at least the thunderstorms stayed away for most of the day! Those who came out when the sun came out were greeted with The MindBody Therapy Centre canopy, banner and five of our therapists. After a while, the thought of a relaxing 10-15minute taster massage must have dawned on people that it would be a fantastic thing to do, as all of the therapists were soon kept busy.

A big thank you to Diana, Anna, Tracey (Devon and Karen), for giving clients just a small taste of what is on offer at the centre as all who came out of our canopy were definately pampered and much more relaxed than when they went in!

Great stuff! Looking forward to more events in conjunction with the Horniman Museum and other local communities and events in The Forest.

It was great to meet you all down there on Saturday. What a small world! One of our therapists used to attend the school and another of our therapists used to teach in the school! Many memories flooded back for both. Also Devon met up with a very old friend from the group Four by Four or One Step Ahead, for those who can remember...you know who you are Robert!

Thanks to Anna, Marilyn, Samantha (and Devon), some of our therapists, for supplying wonderful taster sessions on the day.

It was great to see scores of women once again, running to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK, one of the charities we gift to. We were there with one of our therapists, Diana and her daughter, who were going to ‘run’ the course three legged! My daughter and I had done the Lloyds Park race a few years ago so we knew that even walking, it seemed like a long way!

There were hundreds of women, dressed from normal running gear, to bunny rabbits to nuns. The usual warm up session created a great atmosphere of togetherness and hope while the weather was sunny but not too warm...perfect. The runners had a great run time as usual and seemed to finish the course just as the last of the walkers were starting!

Unfortunately we didn't have our camera so we won't be able to add any pictures here but that's another thing we'll get around to when we go to events. A special well done to Diana and Alannah who proudly wore our 'MindBody Therapist' t-shirts and completed the course in good time but also a shout of ‘Well Done’ to all participants across all of the 5k runs.

Hi Foresters! We had a fantastic day and even the rain stayed away (after the thundery showers early that morning!).

Devon, Karen, Tracey and some family members represented The MindBody Therapy Centre alongside Andrew and the Energie team in the Horniman gardens. It was great to meet so many wonderful people from 'the forest' and everyone was friendly, especially around the food area!

We managed to give out quite a few flyers, so hopefully people will keep them in order to receive the opening offer of 20% off their first treatment. If you haven't got one, pick one up at the Energie fitness club, don't miss out as this will be a limited offer!

Devon also managed to meet some people who said they were from the SE23 Forum (chatting with them, they seem to be as keen as we are, for the opening of the club and centre). One or two of them even had a taster session with him, which he was offering on the day. Devon says 'and yes, in answer to the lady who asked 'Will we have a physio at the centre?', the answer is 'yes, I am looking to find the right therapists to join the centre, including a physiotherapist'.

For those who missed out on getting their FREE taster session on Sunday, we have decided to keep these Sunday afternoon taster sessions open to you for the month of June, so that you can experience what you missed on the day!

NB.This is on the proviso that there is space, as I'm sure you know that the space is still being modified.

Hi, we are just about to launch a new centre in Forest Hill, known to the locals as 'The Forest' we've been told! It's been a long and guided journey to this manifestation of our visualisation and having known the area and recently toured the area we are proud to be opening in such a green and lush area.

If you are local to the area, we know you are proud of where you live, so we'd like to talk to you about what we are doing. I hope you're looking forward to the Energie Fitness Club opening on the 1st July 2009 and we, MindBody Therapy, will also be opening our therapy rooms to you.
