Reiki is said to accelerate the body’s own natural ability to heal itself, on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. It involves the Reiki Practitioner placing both hands on or above the client in specific positions, which ‘opens’ up the body’s energy channels and helps to clear any blockages that may be affecting the flow of Ki (or Qi/energy).
This intelligent energy promotes healing by finding its way to wherever it is needed. It works on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, restoring balance and bringing a sense of calm, clarity and well-being.
Reiki can be used by anyone irrespective of their beliefs. It is suitable for all age groups and states of health. Reiki is powerful, yet gentle and safe. It can be used alongside other forms of treatment, both conventional and complementary in supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Reiki cannot do any harm as it is a non-evasive energy healing and the energy comes through the therapist rather than from the therapist. Some people feel a stirring of emotions; a shifting of blockages; a clearing and cleansing and can feel a temporary discomfort as energy changes and rebalance through the body over a few days. Reiki can also be good to relieve symptoms of anxiety; insomnia; aches & pains; headaches; migraines and is recommended for at least four or more sessions to feel the real benefits.
